Adelaide Based Baby Sleep Expert

Hello, I’m Anna-May, your Adelaide-based Baby & Child Sleep Consultant.

Since becoming a certified sleep consultant in 2020, I have had the privilege of supporting and helping families all around South Australia with their baby sleep concerns to help them achieve the happy, healthy sleep they deserve.

Each baby is unique and every family has their own routine, there is no ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to baby sleep, I am here to support you on your journey no matter what that looks like.  I’ve worked with families to provide custom sleep plans and soothing techniques to assist with sleep concerns including:

  • Understanding newborn sleep
  • Conquering sleep regressions
  • Early risers
  • Frequent night-time wakings
  • Catnapping

As a mother of two beautiful young children, I understand the importance of sleep for our little ones and how empowering it can be to establish healthy sleep routines as a family.

I have experienced, firsthand, how overwhelming it can be to try to find your feet as a new parent and establish a routine when your life has been flipped upside-down (in the most amazing way).  My firstborn is actually how I discovered my passion for sleep consulting. Throughout my pregnancy I was supported with information on birth, breastfeeding and prenatal care but once I was home with my beautiful baby girl, I quickly discovered how little information I had about caring for our little one, particularly around managing and supporting baby sleep.

My daughter was easily overstimulated and often overtired resulting in fragmented night sleep.  We struggled to find a routine or techniques that worked for us.

Whenever we mentioned our sleep struggles to friends and family the response was usually along the lines of ‘duh, that’s what babies do’ or ‘oh just wait, it gets so much worse’ (so helpful).  In a sleep-deprived haze I remember searching for information and being met with an endless barrage of information and conflicting advice on the ‘right’ and ‘wrong’ way to help your baby sleep.

I was lost, I was tired and I knew there must be a better way.  I decided to work with a sleep consultant to create a sleep routine and learning some evidence based soothing techniques.  After a few days of putting what I learnt into practice our sleep had improved dramatically and my daughter was happier and calmer.  That was it, I was absolutely hooked and wanted to learn all about infant and child sleep.

After becoming a certified sleep consultant, I worked with family and friends to share my knowledge and absolutely loved seeing their little ones thrive with the sleep routines we put in place. Not only was the impact seen on the little one but on the family as a whole. When a parent is sleep deprived everyone struggles but when they are well rested they are better parents for it.  I decided to create Soothing2Sleep to build a judgement-free space for families to discuss their baby and child sleep concerns and provide them with the tools and confidence to feel as empowered as I have through my studies.

Sleep consulting is more than a job to me, it truly is my passion, there is no greater feeling than seeing client feedback that their little one has overcome a hurdle no matter how big or small.

I believe in a tailored approach; it is about what works for you and your family.  So if what you are currently doing isn’t working for you, I am here to support you on your journey to better overall sleep.  You can book a consult here or book a free discovery call with me here to discuss how I can help.

I have also put together some free sleep routines which you can find here and a range of free advice can be found in my blogs here.

I look forward to supporting you and your family achieve your goals for happy, healthy sleep.
